There are many ways of breaking a heart. Stories were full of hearts broken by love,
but what really broke a heart was taking away its dream - whatever that dream might be.

Soup is Good Food!
Its getting that time of year to start really enjoying soup again! Isn't that great!? There is nothing better on a cold day than a warm bowl of soup. And so fulfilling.
A few weeks ago I decided that I was going to make some soup, and realized I don't have a soup pot. In KMart after looking at soup pots, I ended up purchasing a crock-pot instead. I have never owned/cooked in one before, anxiously awaiting my first experiement with this cookware. I have no recipes, but do have a nice tri-tip in the freezer waiting to go into the pot.
Recipes? feel free to share! ;-)

I make a mean Beef Bourginon! Does that count?
ReplyDeleteI have no recipes...whenever I want a bowl of soup I crack open a box of Mrs. Grass (with the golden nugget) I fucking love that stuff. ;)
ReplyDeleteSteve~
Oooh. Did the Crock-Pot come with a recipe book?
ReplyDeleteI know there are tons of recipes out there on the interweb. Try searching for "slow cooker" and see what that gets you.
Can you tell we have a slow cooker, but that I haven't used it much yet?
Y'all have Albertsons? Go to the meat section and get some Country Pork Ribs. (it is where I buy mine, not all places have the cut, or at least they don't call it that). Then pick up a bottle of Kraft Original BBQ Sauce. Put the ribs in the crock pot, pour the sauce over them. Cook them on low for hours and hours (about 10 - 12 of them) and then serve with whatever...Make sure and invite some friends. This is a seriously good Autumn evening mean. Not the haute cuisine - but we're talking crock pot here! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI have a great pork chop recipe.
ReplyDeleteget some good loin center chops, put them and a can of Campbells cream of mushroom soup, a bit of garlic and coarse pepper.
cook on med/high until done( about 1 1/2 hours, depends on the size and amount of the meat.
