There are many ways of breaking a heart. Stories were full of hearts broken by love,
but what really broke a heart was taking away its dream - whatever that dream might be.

Nittin Swahney

Now what rock have I been hiding under for the last few years, I haven't been able to enjoy this man's music? Send me some if you have any favorites. THANKS!

edit: I just purchased Philtre through ITunes, because I love that song Mausam. I have no idea what she is saying, but I LOVE it. Give it a listen...

  3. Oh Snap Mel! I didn't know you were a recent convert to Nitin Sawhney and the new age Indian music scene! I didn't even know you were into this kinda music but then I shouldn't be surprised seeing as you listen to Radio Paradise which is brilliant!

Yeah I've got a few of his best songs and I think I'll probably get around to actually buying his albums for a change! I reckon you should definitely check out 'Bengali song' and 'In The Mind' from his 'Displacing the Priest' album; 'Sunset' and 'Moonrise' from 'Prophesy'; 'Bahaar' from 'Migration'; 'Letting go','Breathing Light' and 'Tides' from the 'Beyond Skin' album. He also did a lot of the soundtrack for the new Mira Nair film 'The Namesake' which is a film if ever I saw one that I can really relate to, being Bengali and all!

Also check out a similar artist from the UK called Talvin Singh and his tracks 'Butterfly' and 'Traveller' which is simply amazing!

    I hope like the selection!

  4. Slacker: LIFESAVER! yes I love Indian music, and I heard the song Mausam on RP, and feel in love. So... I am off to search for the other tunes you have suggested. NO one can accuse me of being stuck to one type of music... I love most all of them.

thanks! going to watch for "the namesake" as well.

    rock on darlin.
